  • May 1, 2024   Continuing  by buying 4 pigs for our pork project and having them processed into one pound packages.
  • Jan 31, 2024  Pork project begins the new year with buying  6 pigs having them processed in ground pork and delivering to 5 food pantries.
  • Oct. 4 2023 Pork Project continued with buying 6 hogs and distributing ground pork packages to 5 Lawrence and Orange County food pantries
  • July 03 2023 Pork Project continued with buy hogs from local farm and having meat made in 1 pound packages of ground pork.   Bags are delivered to 4 local food pantries.
  •  July 05 2023 - Asian Children's Mission, Myanmar sustainable farming. We funded phase one of a program to establish a multi-purpose farm.  On this farm they will grow food to help feed about 100 orphans in their two facilities, teach farming to young men and enhance a recycling program with a place to use waste as a fertilizer.  We heard just last week that first Greenhouse is being built.
  • June  01 2023 - Supported Feed the Hungry with red beans for Honduras.  Distribution was through their local contacts.  Feed the Hungry is a long-time partner of BHRP dating back to the 1990’s.

  • Jan. 2023  Mercy Meals for Malawi or Zambia  One of the groups we have previously used for corn shipments is Orphan Grain Train out of Norfolk, NE.  They do a version of the rice based meals similar to the IDES program we do.  One area they are currently shipping these meals is to southeastern Africa.  Specifically the countries of Malawi and Zambia.  Please take a look  at https://www.ogt.org/international-aid/ for more details.  According to their web site in Malawi over 70% of the population live below the international poverty level.
  • Jan 2023 Feed the Hungry as they continue a variety of relief projects for Ukrainian refugees
  • Jan. 2023  Food for the Poor is an organization we have used in the past to ship corn into Haiti.  They are working on a clean water project for several villages in Haiti.  See details at https://www.championsforthepoor.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=540
  • Jan. 2023  Pork Distribution   With the help of East 91th Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN, we continue our Pork Project.   We deliver another 500 pounds of ground pork in 1 pound packages to 4 food pantries in Lawrence County.
  • Nov. 2022 Pork Distribution  We were excited  to continue our mission of feeding hungry people. As most of you know we are no longer sending out whole kernel corn, but we have for a second time deliver over 500 pounds of ground pork to this time 4 food pantries in Lawrence County. The need for food is raising while the availability of food for local food pantries is falling. Through donations coming to BHRP we were able to buy 5 hogs from a local farmer and have it processed and pack into one pound packages. We are so happy to continue doing something in the name of Jesus.
  • Sept. 2022  Pork Distribution Monday, September 12, 2022 marked a new milestone in the transition of BHRP. Through the faithful donations from many people and churches we were able to enter into a new mission field. That mission field is Lawrence County, Indiana.
  • A surprise to no one, whole kernel dry corn is not very usable to most people in the USA. We are not used to grinding our own cornmeal. However, those same people are very adept at using ground pork.
Monday, a total of 643 one-pound packages of ground pork were delivered to three different food pantries in Lawrence County. Based on 2022 averages, these three outlets provide food to 700 families each month. These families are made up of approximately 2,400 individuals. Distribution of the pork from each site began this week.
Over the years God has been faithful to BHRP. This new endeavor is just another way BHRP can be the hands and feet of Jesus by providing much needed food.
Please pray for BHRP as we continue to follow Jesus’ words from Matthew 25:
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
  • May 2022  IDES food pack  Meeting at the 4-H Fairground over 250 individuals from many different churches and organizations packed rice based meals to be sent to Haiti and Djibouti, Africa.  The final total of meals was 65,088 !!!!!!!!!

  • Nov 2021   We have sent corn in the past to World Mission Outreach in Nicaragua.  World Mission Outreach focuses on providing a hand up, not just a handout. They provide 15,000 meals a day, 5.4 million meals a year, provide education at 3 schools, and have 40 outreach locations throughout the country of Nicaragua.  This year we made a donation to their feeding program.  This was much needed since they have not been able to bring in groups because of Covid that usually bring supplies/money for their feeding programs.
