Hunger
Relief Project |
Most first-time visitors to the BHRP facility at
Rosehill
Farm in Bryantsville Indiana are surprised by the appearance of the
operation:
some strange-looking machinery scattered around the corner of an old
red
barn, next to a round metal grain bin. You'd never guess that
over
100,000 bags of corn have left here on their way to hungry people in
many
countries. But God is able to do mighty things with meager stuff,
and
we thank Him for that. The BHRP directors believe the time has come to upgrade the facilities. The current location and setup limits how much corn can be sent out, and when. To help alleviate these limitations and allow the BHRP to be more productive, Rosehill Farm and the Sherwood family have made some land available to move the BHRP operation to a new site near US Highway 50 in Bryantsville (just across the road from Bryantsville Church of Christ!). The land is to be given as a lifetime lease, rent-free as long as the BHRP remains a non-profit organization. Construstion has begun, erecting a pole-barn building and grain bin at this new location, as a corn-processing and storage facility. Hopefully, some newer grain-cleaning-and-bagging equipment can be installed, too. It is our goal that the funds for a new building will be raised seperately from those used to send out corn, that the day-to-day operation of feeding hungry people will not suffer just to make improvements to our facility. If you desire to help financially with constructing a new building, please mark your gift accordingly- unspecified donations will continue to be used to purchase and provide corn for relief efforts. Funds for the building project have already started coming in. (See the Financial Status page.) Until the building is complete, we will continue to process corn at the current location, with the hope of moving the entire operation to the highway area in the near future. Please check back at this web page occasionally, for updates on the building progress. As we plan for this transition to a new, more modern facility, please praythat God would continue to bless the Bryantsville Hunger Relief Project- that it may expand and improve its operation, and feed more people in the name of Jesus. ![]() Sketch of proposed building ![]() ![]() ![]() |
